Transitions: Balancing Effort and Ease
An intermediate level workshop with Anto Kearney
Sunday, February 23rd 15:00-17:00 ~ €30
When it comes to yoga practice, what you do between poses may be as important as the poses themselves. Often as we transition from posture to posture we get distracted or tend to focus on the end result rather than the journey of getting there. Yet, to learn how to move through transitions with grace, ease, and fluidity requires practice, patience, and the ability to listen intimately and consciously.
This intermediate level workshop – led by senior teacher Anto Kearney – will focus on how we can refine our practice by developing a deeper internal awareness of body alignment, our relationship with gravity and space, breath, and right amount of effort. We will move slowly, mindfully, and learn how to play the edge without forcing our way through but rather using the breath to release areas of tension and create space for the body to move into. We will also explore how we can apply energetic actions that support alignment, stability, and safety during transitions and refine the balance between effort and ease by linking each action to the next, one breath at a time.
This workshop may be of particular interest to teachers and people with a regular yoga practice. Not suitable for beginners or during pregnancy.
