There will be no interval and the concert will last about 75 minutes.

Join us for a magical concert of reflective and uplifting music as we sing a range of classic and contemporary carols that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

Our Christmas journey around the world and across the ages begins in Renaissance Venice with Gabrieli’s exciting Hodie Christus natus est for double choir. We move on to Mexico for a playful Baroque surprise and then come back to Europe to celebrate Bruckner’s 200th birthday with his jubilant Virga Jesse.

Staying in Germany but moving to the 21st century, we are excited to present the Irish premiere of Georg Grün’s complete Maranatha suite, setting seasonal plainchant melodies against multi-layered jazzy harmonies. We contrast these with Good-will to men, and peace on Earth by Bulgarian-born composer Dobrinka Tabakova, and beloved carols in fresh arrangements by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo.

Closer to home, we complete our programme with contemporary compositions from Irish composers Rhona Clarke and Colm Ó Foghlú, and popular carols from Ireland and the UK.
