International Women’s Day Walk with a difference

7th Februaryat 11:00 am - 1:30 pm
€10 – €40

Looking for something a bit special to do for International Women’s Day? Why not join us for a relaxed walking tour celebrating amazing women from history?

Step off the beaten path and into the hidden heart of central Dublin on this two-and-a-half-hour walking tour, where quiet laneways and overlooked landmarks hold the bold and lesser-known stories of fearless revolutionaries, pioneering sculptors, writers, innovators, and leaders.  This tour celebrates those who defied expectations and shaped the city in unexpected ways. Some were scandalous, many were forgotten, but all were unforgettable.

Starting with a fun introduction at The Meeting Place statue near The Hal’penny Bridge, listen to the statue talk (voiced by award winning Irish actress Brenda Fricker). Next, hear the story behind the naming of a bridge.  On to the cultural heart of Temple Bar to find an Oscar, recording studios and much more. After a refreshment break, we wind our way  through Dublin Castle and onto St. Stephen’s Green, discovering stories of trailblazing, courageous women remembered in the city’s quiet nooks and finally we wrap up with a tasty light lunch.

Included in the ticket price is a stop along the way for tea/coffee, scones and chat and a light lunch of soup and bread at the end.

Tours run on Feb 7th and Feb 8th
