The Music and Mindfulness workshop will explore how breath, posture and gesture influence our sound, with the intention of deepening our connection to our instrument and to ourselves. Participants will learn how to focus awareness on their inner feeling in the present moment and express this in sound. Participants will combine deep listening with simple everyday practices to awaken their creativity.

Clíodhna Ní Aodáin is a professional cellist, conductor, composer, teacher and creative artist. Clíodhna studied cello with Olwen Lewis and Aisling Drury-Byrne in Dublin, Emma Ferrand at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester (BMusRNCM), Yuli Turovsky at the Université de Montréal (Mmus Interprétation) and Susanne Basler at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (Konzertdiplom). She has participated in Masterclasses with Janos Starker, Valentin Berlinsky, and David Darling.
Originally from Dublin, Clíodhna currently lives and works in Bern, Switzerland. She teaches cello at the Musikschule Konservatorium Bern www.konsibern.ch and conducts the Orchester Divertimento Bern. www.divertimento-bern.ch
Clíodhna performs as a soloist and chamber musician internationally and loves to explore musical expression through improvisation. She is the Artistic Director of Music for People Europe (www.musicforpeople.ch). Her most recent project is The Celtic Cello (www.thecelticcello.com )
