No previous experience of philosophy or meditation is needed. \nThe course begins with a simple question: what is wisdom\, and how can it be applied in everyday life? Over ten weeks\, participants explore practical ideas around self-knowledge\, attention\, justice\, beauty\, truth and the way we relate to ourselves and others. \nDrawing on ideas from both Eastern and Western philosophy\, the course encourages participants to test the ideas in their own lives rather than simply study them as theory. \nEach class includes guided discussion\, practical exercises and a short stillness practice. The sessions are interactive and give participants the opportunity to reflect on the ideas\, hear different perspectives and explore how they can be applied in day-to-day situations. \nWeekly themes include questions such as: What does it mean to know yourself? How can we become more present and attentive? What is justice? How can we use our energy well? What is the role of reason and beauty in life?
